'Seafoam Pink'

Caladium ‘Seafoam Pink’ is a whimsical heart-shaped caladium. Leaves have a base colour of lime green and feature beautifully marbled blush pink etchings into the leaf’s surface, and broad green veining. Because the pigments disperse randomly, each leaf produces an entirely different leaf pattern making every leaf unique. You may occasionally find random pigments of white and deep green blotches. These plants are happy in bright / indirect light or partial shaded conditions

The Caladium 'Seafoam Pink’ belongs to the Araceae family. The species has roots to the tropical rainforests of South America. They thrive in warm and humid environments 

Seasonal Dormancy

It’s important to keep in mind that caladiums go into dormancy in colder climates. Its leaves will fade and die back. This is a completely natural part of its cycle-you haven’t killed the plant! Reduce watering significantly. When the foliage dries, stop watering. Store the tuber in a cool, dark, dry place and allow the plant to rest. Resume watering in the spring and wait for new growth to emerge

    • Lighting: Thrives in bright / indirect light / partial shade    

    • Watering: Water once top inch of soil is dry-prefers to be consistently moist (try to bottom water whenever possible to avoid those ghats!)        

    • Soil: Well-draining soil (I use a cacti / a desert mix for all my plants). They despise sitting in soggy soil, add perlite or vermiculite for aeration         

    • Environment: Native to the tropics, they require high humidity and warmth (ideally above 21°C)        

    • Toxicity: Caladiums are toxic when digested, keep away from pets and small children

    • Top Tip: Caladiums love humidity. Mist your plant 2 to 3 times per week. Group plants close together to create a natural humid microclimate
