Some of our plants are pet-friendly. Each plant will have a toxicity warning on each product item in the care guide section. We recommend always checking a plants toxicity before introducing it to your furry friends and small children.

If this is not possible, Gothic Tropics will dispatch your order and you can return it to us upon arrival

Gothic Tropics is an independent e-commerce business and stock is sometimes limited. Availability of stock changes depending on popularity and time of year.

We do keep a close eye on which plants are selling fast and try to restock in a timely manner.

If your order has unfortunately been cancelled, it’ll be because there is a stock issue, or you have requested us to cancel.

If your order is cancelled because of a stock issue, we will offer a product alternative, and process any refunds.

Natural variations among the same plant species is to be expected. We do our best to list accurate sizes. Your plant may arrive slightly fuller, taller, smaller and with more or less leaf growth. This is due to changing seasons and growth stages of the plant.

*Plants can be sensitive to changes in their environment. Please bear in mind minor cosmetic changes may occur upon arrival, due to the shipping process. Your plant may need some time to acclimate to its new surroundings. This can take anywhere from days to weeks, this process is completely normal.

Yes! We want to reduce waste where possible. Every plant box is hand cut / made to order. We reuse cardboard boxes wherever possible to extend their life form.

Gothic Minis is a collection focusing on smaller plants. It consists of plants that have been propagated, grown from corms, and tissue culture. It’s perfect for first time plant parents, and great if you’re thinking of owning a rare plant, but wanting to start on a smaller scale.

The Spooky Kooks collection is a range of plants that may have minor cosmetic imperfections, but still requiring a home. Issues may range from, development issues, injury damage, and any potential damage from pests and diseases.

*Plants are only sold once these issues have been addressed to prevent any risk.

It’s quite common for plants to experience some shock during transportation. This is nothing to worry about. Here are some tips to help your plants acclimate into its new home.

• Carefully remove the plants from the packaging. Taking extra care not to damage any leaves or stems.

• Find a spot that your new plant thrives in. It’s important to avoid direct sunlight for the time being, even if the plant florishes in this environment, to avoid any further stress.

• Plants need to acclimatise to their new surroundings. Once unpacked and in the perfect spot, allow the plants to breathe and settle. This can take anywhere from a few days to weeks.

• Soil check! Before watering check the moisture in the soil. If the soil is 1/3rd dry, give the plant a little drink. We recommend bottom watering where possible to avoid gnats. Make sure not to over-water, less is more.

• We recommend holding off on disturbing the roots. This can cause stress to the plants. It’s best to let them recover and settle into their environment in their original pots before repotting.

• Keep an eye over the next few days of the plants health, and they should thrive in no time!
