Caladium ‘Fantasy’ is known for its crisp white leaves and delicate margins. The network of fragile green veining highlights the amazing characteristics that these plants are known for. And speaking of characteristics, we need to point out the central ribs. Bright magenta-red veins that adds to the intricacy. This is another white variety that prefers a shadier environment and would be perfect for north-facing rooms

The Caladium 'Fantasy’ belongs to the Araceae family. They originate from the tropical rainforests of South America. They thrive in warm, humid and shaded environments 

Seasonal Dormancy

It’s important to keep in mind that caladiums go into dormancy in colder climates. Its leaves will fade and die back. This is a completely natural part of its cycle-you haven’t killed the plant! Reduce watering significantly. When the foliage dries, stop watering. Store the tuber in a cool, dark, dry place and allow the plant to rest. Resume watering in the spring and wait for new growth to emerge

    • Lighting: Thrives in full / partial shade  

    • Watering: Water once top inch of soil is dry-prefers to be consistently moist (try to bottom water whenever possible to avoid those ghats!)    

    • Soil: Well-draining soil (I use a cacti / a desert mix for all my plants). They despise sitting in soggy soil, add perlite or vermiculite for aeration     

    • Environment: Native to the tropics, they require high humidity and warmth (ideally above 21°C)    

    • Toxicity: Caladiums are toxic when digested, keep away from pets and small children

    • Top Tip: Caladiums love humidity. Mist your plant 2 to 3 times per week. Group plants close together to create a natural humid microclimate
