Caladium ‘Cherry Blossom’ is one of the sweetest Caladiums around. So many leaf patterns, we’re spoilt for choice with this one! It’s part of the fancy-leafed family. Leaves consist of soft pink speckling, and splash markings. Almost making the leaves seem like they’ve been painted in watercolours. Vibrant pink veining makes a bold centrepiece, fading into green margins. These painterly leaves stand upon a pink blush stem

The Caladium 'Cherry Blossom' belongs to the Araceae family. They originate from the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, with historical roots in regions like Brazil. They thrive in warm, humid, and partial shaded environments 

Seasonal Dormancy

It’s important to keep in mind that caladiums go into dormancy in colder climates. Its leaves will fade and die back. This is a completely natural part of its cycle-you haven’t killed the plant! Reduce watering significantly. When the foliage dries, stop watering. Store the tuber in a cool, dark, dry place and allow the plant to rest. Resume watering in the spring and wait for new growth to emerge

    • Lighting: Thrives in full / partial shade (this hybrid can tolerate high levels of sun-but minimise direct sunlight)

    • Watering: Water once top inch of soil is dry-prefers to be consistently moist (try to bottom water whenever possible to avoid those ghats!)  

    • Soil: Well-draining soil (I use a cacti / a desert mix for all my plants). They despise sitting in soggy soil, add perlite or vermiculite for aeration   

    • Environment: Native to the tropics, they require high humidity and warmth (ideally above 21°C)  

    • Toxicity: Caladiums are toxic when digested, keep away from pets and small children

    • Top Tip: Caladiums love humidity. Mist your plant 2 to 3 times per week. Group plants close together to create a natural humid microclimate
