Caladium ‘Autumn Beauty’ is a truly beautiful plant with foliage that changes colour every season. It has heart-shaped leaves that display rich, paint-like splotches that shows off their artistic flair, making every leaf unique. Colours consist of a mix of warm bronze, vibrant reds, and bold hues of green and fiery orange. Each leaf stands on a bold black stem, which blends into deep pink veining that only adds to the drama

The caladium ‘Autumn Beauty' belongs to the Araceae family. They originate from the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, with historical roots in regions like Brazil. They thrive in warm, humid, and partial shaded environments

Seasonal Dormancy

It’s important to keep in mind that caladiums go into dormancy in colder climates. Its leaves will fade and die back. This is a completely natural part of its cycle-you haven’t killed the plant! Reduce watering significantly. When the foliage dries, stop watering. Store the tuber in a cool, dark, dry place and allow the plant to rest. Resume watering in the spring and wait for new to growth emerge

    • Lighting: Thrives in bright, indirect light or partial shade. Too much direct sun will scorch and burn its delicate leaves, while too little light will cause the plant to become leggy

    • Watering: Water once top inch of soil is dry-prefers to be consistently moist (try to bottom water whenever possible to avoid those ghats!)

    • Soil: Well-draining soil (I use a cacti / a desert mix for all my plants). They despise sitting in soggy soil, add perlite or vermiculite for aeration

    • Environment: Native to the tropics, they require high humidity and warmth (ideally above 21°C)

    • Toxicity: Caladiums are toxic when digested, keep away from pets and small children

    • Top Tip: Caladiums love humidity. Mist your plant 2 to 3 times per week. Group plants close together to create a natural humid microclimate
